Our Strategic Plan
Introduction by the Chairman of Aberdeen Sports Village Limited (ASV)
It is with great pleasure that I introduce the first Strategic Business Plan for Aberdeen Sports Village. Following our first year of operation and our official opening with Denis Law, we can now look further ahead to the challenges that we face in the future.
ASV's aim is to be innovative in the way we conduct our business, to offer the best services we can to existing customers, attract new participants and events - all at the time where there will be continued pressure on public finances.
We recognise our role in encouraging people across all age groups to become active in attaining satisfactory levels of health and fitness and that this will be achieved through ASV working in partnership with other organisations across the wider community. We will have a local focus in Aberdeen and also a wider role in the forthcoming 2012 Olympics and 2014 Commonwealth Games preparations.
We have set ourselves some challenging targets, but our single largest goal is to work with our partners to develop the proposed Aquatic Centre on the existing Aberdeen Sports Village site. We envisage that having a world class 50 metre pool and diving facility for training and competitions will be of significant benefit to the City of Aberdeen, the University of Aberdeen and the whole of Scotland and beyond – our aim is to deliver this facility to the region.
We view the future with great anticipation.
