Do I have to book a place for an exercise class?
You need to book in for every class. We suggest you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
How far in advance can I book a class?
Health and Fitness members can book a class up to 5 days in advance.
Other members and non members can book up to 2 days in advance.
Do I have to cancel my space in the class if I can not make it?
Yes. You need to inform us as soon as possible so that we can get maximum numbers into the classes and allow more members the chance to attend.
What if I forget to tell you or I was unable to tell you?
We understand that sometimes it can be impossible to let us know and therefore we have a policy of three strikes and out. After your third warning you may receive a suspension to classes. If you can not get through to us on the phone, please leave us a message or email info@aberdeensportsvillage.com.
How far in advance can I book any other facilities?
A member (any membership type) can book squash, badminton or table tennis up to 7 days in advance. Non-members can book up to 3 days in advance. All bookings must be paid in full at time of booking.
Can I attend a class if I am not a member?
Yes. We have a Pay as You Play price for non members and you can book up to 2 days in advance. You must pay at time of booking.
Can I visit the gym if I am not a member?
Yes. We allow Pay as You Play access to the gym as long as there is available space. If the limit exceeds 100 in the gym we can not allow Pay as You Play entry. This is to ensure a positive and safe environment for all our customers. Please note there is a one-off charge of £2 for a membership card, which you can keep for future access to the facilities.
Why must I always remember my membership card?
We have a policy where we allow entry if you forget your card on one occasion. Although the reception team can confirm your details and allow you access, we also have gates at the Fitness Suite. This is to allow only exclusive access to members and paying customers only, ensuring a better experience. Without a card the Fitness Consultants must be on hand to allow access; this can often result in them being taken away from important tasks such as looking after customers, cleaning and maintenance.
If you have lost your card you can buy a new one at a price of £5.
How do I use my membership card?
You must activate your membership card with every visit at what we call the kiosk (situated beside reception). To do this you must hold your card up to the marked reader area. You then select the area you are visiting until it turns green. You then select OK to the right of the screen.
To enter through the gates you simply hold the card STILL over the white marked area and wait until the gate opens.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not repeatedly swipe the card back and forth as this can record three or four times and each activation at the kiosk only allows a few swipes; this may result in the card not working at the gym turnstile.
How much does it cost for a locker?
Lockers take a £1 coin which is returned after use.
Do I have to use a locker?
We strongly recommend you use the lockers provided for your own security of belongings, allow other users the space provided to change and also to allow our cleaning team full access to all areas.
What do I need to wear to use the facility?
For health and safety reasons gym kit should always be worn. No jeans, shoes, shirts, etc. are permitted. Black-soled shoes are not allowed in the squash courts and no metal studded boots or trainers in the Indoor Pitch. This prolongs the life of our high-quality surfaces and the equipment we provide.
Can I have an Induction to the Fitness Suite?
Yes. All our inductions are free of charge and include a basic fittlinxx program. The Fitness Consultants can then follow this up and provide personal programs to meet your needs. To book an induction or personalised program please see one of our Fitness Consultants in the Fitness Suite.
Are there any procedures I need to follow in the Fitness Suite?
Yes. It is important that you follow all health and safety regulations. It's also very important you clear up and wipe down all the machines after use in order to provide a more pleasant experience in the Fitness Suite for all our users.
How do I enquire about a block booking or event?
