Archie's Amazon Adventure

The Archie Amazon Adventure will run from 1st Sept - 30th September 2010 and will help raise money for the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital.

The Challenge is simple - get together in a team then walk, run, row or even cycle making sure you record your progress on the special website.

Working in teams of ten all you need to do is record the steps you make in a day, or the miles you run in the gym and then record them on the website. Your teams on screen boat will then immediately move a little further down the virtual Amazon.

Your Steps to Get Going

1. Get a team together

Join a team or find up to 9 co-workers (ten people maximum per team) who want to get fit, have fun or just raise important funds to 'Make the difference' for local sick children. Encourage other teams in your workplace to join the Virtual Challenge and race each otherto the finish.

2. Register

Go to www.amazonadventure.org.uk and register your team. Once you have registeredyou will receive a pack that includes some great ideas for completing the challenge and even a pedometer so you can include every step you take towards your goalof reaching the sea!

3. Get Sponsored

Ask you friends and family to sponsor you to undertakethe Amazon Adventure. If everybodyin your team (or boat!) can raise £100 your team will make a huge difference to local children. Why not go to www.justgiving.com and search for ARCHIE in the 'Find a charity' box- from here you'll be able to set up an on-line fundraising page where friends and family will be able to sponsor you. It's really easy and quick!

4. Get Going!

Provided you're operating under your own steam (so no car journeys or flights please!) then every meter you complete or step you take can count towards your epic virtual journey down the amazon! Now that your JustGiving is set up, all you need to do is start counting those steps.

5. Win Great prizes

There will be some fantastic prizes for individuals and teams, and top challenge teams will be listed on www.amazonadventure.org.uk where you and your teammates will be able to follow your challenge. You can send us photographs of your team in action or even videos for us to put up on the site for others to see.
