ASV coaches and staff win national awards
Three of ASV's coaches and a member of staff have been awarded SportScotland national coaching awards.
ASV is proud to announce that James Joy, and Joyce and Ken Hogg - athletics coaches at ASV - and Emma Hunter - Sports Development Executive at ASV - faced stiff competition from other coaches throughout the region for the 2012 sportScotland coaching awards, but were victorious in their categories securing 4 out of the 9 awards available.
James, who attends the University of Aberdeen and is a middle distance runner, picked up the award for Young Coach of the Year. James has been coaching since the age of 17 and is involved in coaching Active Schools, Aberdeen Amateur Athletics Club (AAAC), and ASV's children's athletics sessions.
Joyce was named Young Persons Coach of the Year for her work with youngsters in AAAC, Active Schools, ASV's children's athletics club, and school athletics events.
Ken was awarded Performance Coach of the year for his role in increasing the standard of performance of various athletes attending AAAC.
Emma, who coaches Westdyke Girls 15's and is dedicated to developing girls' football at the club, was presented with the Participation Coach of the Year.
