Thirteen year old diver Olivia Leslie has enjoyed an excellent run of results in recent weeks, producing strong performances at both national and international competitions with the support of the Dr Hellen Reith Trust, a charitable trust we administer that helps young athletes progress through funding and development opportunities.
At the Scottish National Open Championships held from 6 to 8 February 2026 at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, Olivia showed great determination and composure in a highly competitive field. After a challenging start in the preliminary rounds, she grew in confidence as the competition went on, delivering some of her strongest dives in the later rounds to climb back up the leaderboard.
On the 1m springboard, Olivia finished sixth in the preliminaries before a confident final performance saw her move up to fourth place overall, showing her ability to perform under pressure. On the 3m springboard, she placed third in the prelims and once again finished fourth in the final, showing consistency across the two competitions.
Her performances earned her the title of Scottish Champion on the 1m and 3m springboards, marking an important milestone in her competitive journey.
The following weekend, Olivia travelled to Plymouth for the Armada Cup, where she continued her strong momentum. She won gold in both the 1m and 3m events, finishing well ahead of the rest of the field and achieving personal best scores on both boards.
These results have created new opportunities in Olivia’s development. She has now been invited to train once a month at the national performance centre in Edinburgh and will attend a training camp in Birmingham later in February, giving her access to higher level coaching and preparation.
Looking ahead, Olivia will compete in the Next Gen competition in Edinburgh this April, as she continues her development at national level alongside the country’s leading young divers.
Together, these recent successes mark an exciting step forward in Olivia’s development and demonstrate how the support of the Dr Hellen Reith Trust is helping open doors to higher-level training and competition.
Continued support for ASV helps ensure that programmes and trusts like these can continue providing the opportunities young athletes need to thrive.
