Asv story 1

ASV was buzzing in the last week of march, as Masters swimmers from across the continent came together for a spectacular showcase of skill, speed, and sportsmanship. Amongst the many highlights were seven European records – a true testament to the world-class standard of competition and the exceptional environment ASV provides for athletes of all ages.

With the buzz of the crowd and the support of dedicated officials, coaches and volunteers, the pool came alive as records began to tumble. One club that stole the spotlight was Warrender Baths Club’s senior masters, whose record-breaking performances lit up the weekend.

The Men’s 280+ 4x100m Freestyle Relay team – made up of Ian McKay, Alexander (Wilson) Mills, Alastair McGregor, and Mark Jones – stunned spectators with a blistering time of 4:36.07, slicing over ten seconds off the previous European record.

But they didn’t stop there. Riding the wave of momentum, the team also stormed to victory in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay and 4x50m Medley Relay, securing two more European relay records and cementing their place in Masters swimming history.

At ASV, we pride ourselves on providing the perfect stage for athletes to push boundaries – whether it’s local talent chasing personal bests or international stars smashing records. Our commitment to excellence in event delivery, athlete experience, and community impact is what sets us apart.
