Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV) and Global E&C have collaborated to launch a new initiative that provides free sports opportunities to local school pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Recognising that not all children have the same access to sports programmes, the Energise programme aims to change that. This programme provides access to a wide range of sport & fitness activities including swimming, athletics, rugby and football.

The initiative is supported by the national lottery and Aberdeen energy service provider, Global E&C.
Open to pupils from local schools who don’t typically have access to extra-curricular sport, the Energise Programme aims to encourage regular participation in physical activity with all aspects - from facilities to coaching and sport kit - made accessible to those taking part.

After a successful trial period, the programme launched in mid-February and we're delighted to report that, two months in, it has been a massive success!
The Energise programme not only provides access to sport but also food, warmth, and showering facilities. As the cost-of-living crisis continues to impact local individuals, families, and the community, we are hopeful that this programme helps relieve some of the burdens on families looking for support for their children.
