Our Head of Sport & Events, Graham Morrison, visited NESCol’s Aberdeen City Campus recently for an update on the success of a partnership between the two organisations.
The initiative, which started in February, sees 360 primary school pupils from the St Machar Academy cluster offered free sports sessions at ASV led by HND Sports Coaching students from North East Scotland College (NESCol).

NESCol External Engagement Coordinator Zack Ellis said, “this project provides an exciting opportunity for our students to get vital practical experience of coaching as well as working towards vocational qualifications.”
Graham, our Head of Sport & Events, said, “we believe that sport plays such a vital role in the development of young people and we want to ensure that we create opportunities for young people to experience the physical, mental, and social benefits that sports provides.
"The partnership with North East Scotland College will create and provide opportunities for students to learn and deliver sport to our local community, providing vital learning and development.”
The successful project has already led to several students being offered paid opportunities during the holidays, and it is hoped that the partnership will continue to develop further.
