Another athlete supported by the Dr Hellen Reith Trust at Aberdeen Sports Village is set to represent Scotland on the international stage, with wheelchair racer Joanna Robertson selected for Team Scotland at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Joanna has been named in Team Scotland’s para athletics squad and will compete in the Women’s T54 1500m at this summer’s Games in Glasgow.

The selection marks Joanna’s Commonwealth Games debut and is another proud milestone in her career, as well as for the Hellen Reith Trust, which supports talented athletes from the North East in reaching the highest levels of sport.

Speaking about her selection, Joanna said:

“It’s such an honour to be able to put on the Scotland vest and represent my home country at the Commonwealth Games. Racing for Team Scotland feels more like home, you’re racing with close friends, those who understand you. Even just racing on your home turf gives you that extra boost, it’s fantastic.”

Everyone at Aberdeen Sports Village wishes Joanna and Team Scotland the very best as they compete on home soil this summer.

Joanna will compete at Scotstoun Stadium from 27 July to 1 August as part of the athletics and para athletics programme at Glasgow 2026.
