The Junior National Cup took place on Saturday, 7 February at Ward Road Gym in Dundee, bringing together many of the country’s leading junior table tennis players for a day of high-quality competition.
Leading the way was Kiishi Adekola, who delivered an outstanding performance in the Junior Girls’ event. Showing consistency and confidence throughout the tournament, Kiishi won all seven of her matches without dropping a single set to be crowned Junior Girls Champion.
Kiishi’s success reflects the strong progress being made within the Aberdeen Sports Village Table Tennis Academy, which continues to show promising development and results across junior competitions. The academy focuses on technical growth, competition experience, and long-term athlete development, helping young players progress through the national pathway.
An important part of Kiishi’s journey has been the support of the Dr Hellen Reith Trust, which provides financial assistance to young athletes who may otherwise face challenges continuing in their sport. The Trust aims to remove financial barriers and ensure talented individuals can access coaching, training, and competitive opportunities to support their development.
Together, the achievements at the Junior National Cup highlight both individual excellence and the growing impact of ASV’s coaching programmes and charitable support in helping young athletes reach their potential.
