20260203 ASV Mastermeet 01

On Saturday 31 January, we were proud to host the Silver City Blues Masters Annual Swim Meet 2026, welcoming over 260 swimmers from clubs across the UK to our Aquatics Centre.

Organised by Silver City Blues Masters Swimming Club, the meet delivered a fantastic day of competitive racing, team spirit and community support.

With packed poolside seating, volunteers working behind the scenes, and swimmers pushing for personal bests, the atmosphere was lively from the first race to the final relay.

The standard of swimming was impressive, with several records broken on the day, including European, British and Scottish records (pending confirmation).

A closely fought team competition saw Basingstoke Bluefins Masters take home the Best Team trophy, while sprint trophies went to Sarah Hunt and Scott MacDougall.

Beyond the racing, the meet also raised £256 for local charities The Archie Foundation and CFINE, thanks to medal donations and generous contributions from competitors and supporters.

A huge thank you goes to the officials, teamkeepers and poolside volunteers, alongside our Aquatics team and wider Aberdeen Sports Village staff, who helped the event run smoothly throughout the day.

Photos from the day were shared by the Press and Journal, allowing swimmers and spectators to relive some of the standout moments.

We’re delighted to have hosted such a well-supported and energetic event at ASV and look forward to welcoming Silver City Blues and visiting clubs back again next year.
