Beyond Level Zero: Changes in Covid-19 Restrictions

From Monday, August 9th Scotland will be moving beyond level zero, with many Covid-19 restrictions easing. At ASV this means we'll be able to increase class sizes, offer sit-in services at our Sports Centre Cafe, and more!

Find more information on how this may affect your experience at ASV below:

Face Masks +

Our current face mask policy will remain the same for now. You do not have to wear a mask when you are exercising, but you will be expected to wear a mask, at all times, when travelling throughout the facility in non-sporting areas.

Children under the age of 12 are welcome to wear a face mask, but are no longer required to.

Class Capacity & Gym Sessions +

From Monday, we'll be increasing class sizes, and strongly encourage you book in no later than one hour before the session starts. You can book online here.

You don't need to book a gym session anymore, but please continue to check in at our kiosks upon arrival to help us keep track of how many members are in the gym at one time. Our staff will also be monitoring the number of people in the gym to make sure we're within our allowed capacity.

Aquatics +

Along with aquatics class capacity increasing, there are a few other exciting changes in our aquatics centre.

Club lane occupancy and supervised diving occupancy will increase. Teaching assistants will also be back in the water for lessons.

For the time being, we still require bookings for swim lanes, and are maintaining the current member occupancy for our short and long course lanes. This may increase from August 30th. You can book using our online booking system.

The one way system into the pool area will remain and be monitored. All showers will be open, and our hair dryers and costume dryers will be operational again. The health suite will be open and cleaned at regular intervals throughout the day.

Changing Areas & Non-Sporting Areas +

All of our changing rooms, toilets, and showers will be open for use and hair dryers will be operational. In the aquatics centre, our costume dryers will be operational.

All lockers and cubicles will also be available.

You may see a change in the social distancing stickers and signage in these areas and the hallways. We kindly ask that you continue walking on the left hand side of the hallways and stairs, and follow the one way systems where they are still in place.

Cafes & Spectator Areas +

From August 9th both of our cafes will be open! Our Aquatics Centre cafe will remain available for takeaway only, while our Sports Centre cafe will offer dine in and takeaway options.

If you choose to dine in, please scan the QR code for track and trace, available at the cafe. If you have any questions our staff will be happy to help.

At this time our spectator areas will remain closed; we hope to re-open these soon.

COVID-19 Cleaning Procedures +

At ASV we are committed to maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness standards we established during the pandemic, to keep everyone who visits us as safe as possible.

Our cleaning team will continue to do regular checks in the gym, studios, and other areas. We also ask that you, our members, help us by cleaning any equipment you use or touch.

We will still have hand sanitising stations around our facility and, as always, blue roll and sanitising sprays will be available in classes, the gym, and other sporting areas.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please visit our Help Centre.
