ALC ASV Matchday

A group of Aberdeen Lads Club youngsters headed to Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV) on Saturday the 3rd of February, where they enjoyed a bit of a workout, before moving on to Pittodrie to watch Aberdeen take on league leaders, Celtic.

Thanks to the generosity of both ASV and Aberdeen Football Club (AFC), eight of our children had the chance to show off their racket skills on the sport facility’s squash courts, before heading to the stadium, where they watched the Dons draw 1-1 with the defending champions.

Aberdeen Lads’ Club manager, Angie Johnston said: “We’re incredibly grateful to the team at ASV for letting us use their squash courts and for providing us with tickets to watch the Aberdeen game through their partnership with AFC and their ASV Matchday initiative.

“Our guys had a brilliant time even if the Dons didn’t manage to secure a win. We cannot thank ASV enough for providing us with the opportunity to use their facilities and also to watch the Aberdeen game. We’ve got another two matches to go to and the children can’t wait!.”

Graham Morrison, ASV’s Head of Sport & Events, said: “We all know how beneficial sport is for young people, not just in terms of their physical development, but also as far as their mental wellbeing is concerned.

“It should also be fun, and so we were delighted to be able to host the children from Aberdeen Lads Club at ASV and also facilitate a number of trips to Pittodrie thanks to AFC’s Aberdeen4All programme. Here’s hoping the Dons deliver a win at the next game they attend.”
