Five players from the ASV Table Tennis Academy were selected to represent Scotland at this year's Secondary Schools International.
The Secondary Schools International was held at Kingfisher Club, University of Galway, Ireland at the end of June and saw teams from seven countries - Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey & the Isle of Man - take to the tables to determine this year's champions.
A total of five players from the ASV TT Academy qualified and were selected to represent Scotland.
Daniel Tibbets teamed up with Nathan Hogg from North Ayrshire. In the Boys U16s team event, the boys beat Scotland B Team to win the bronze medal.
Daniel also came through the initial group stages in the Boys U16 singles event, with a fantastic win over the English number four seed Joseph Cooper in the last 16. After a tough match in the quarter finals against number one seed Krish Chotai, Daniel eventually went down 1 - 3.
Allan He and his partner Tony Chim from Glasgow were on Scotland B Team for the Boys U16s team event, making it to the bronze medal match before ultimately conceding to Scotland A Team.
In the Boys U16 singles event Allan didn't come through the group stages, which meant he went on to play in the Plate event. Both Allan and his teammate Tony made it through to the Plate Final, with Allan taking a great win to secure the Boys U16 Plate Gold medal.
Jakub Krzyzonsaniak finished 7th in the U14s team event with his partner William Wang from Edinburgh.
In the Boys U14 singles event, Jakub also had a very tough group, and also went into the Plate event where, like his U16 clubmate Allan, Jakub also made it through to the Plate final. In what proved to be a very entertaining final, Jakub put up a great fight to win 3 - 2 after being 0 - 2 behind, and secured the Boys U14 Plate Gold medal.

In the Girls events, Maja Wojcicka and her partner Nichole Lee from Edinburgh secured the bronze medal in the Girls U14 team event.
In the Girls U14 singles event, Maja came through her group in second place, which meant she met her teammate Nichole in the quarter finals. The girls regularly meet in singles competition, and after a very close match Maja unfortunately lost 9 - 11.
Kiishi Adekola, playing in the U16 girls team event with her partner Megan Mulhern, finished fifth. Kiishi also played in the U14s girls single event, and after playing in the Plate event she ultimately finished as runner up.
Congratulations to all the ASV youngsters who took part in the 2023 Secondary Schools International - fantastic performances all around!
