Since January, our diving team has visited numerous Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire schools as part of Talent ID.
ASV, which hosts Aberdeen Diving Club (the second largest diving club in Scotland) works alongside Scottish Swimming and Swim England to attract more young people into the sport.
Talent ID has been greatly successful in identifying divers with promise. Our diving programme manager and elite diving coach Judy Wardlaw noted that for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, many members of Team GB's diving squad - including Tom Daley - were picked out by the Talent ID programme when they were younger.

Two of Aberdeen Diving Club's top performing divers, Noah Penman and Niamh Rogerson, came through the 2017 Talent ID. Both are extremely talented divers with a bright future in the sport.
In December 2022 Noah had a successful competition at the Scottish National & Open Diving Championships followed by picking up two gold medals at the Camo Invitational International Championships in Montreal.
Meanwhile, in 2022 Niamh was named to the Scottish Swimming 2022/2023 National Youth Academy and nabbed the silver medal for the Girls Group B Platform at the 11th Open Croatian Cadet & Junior Championship.

During this year's Talent ID search, one of the schools ASV visited was Stoneywood Primary School, where our team came away with more than just potential future divers!
Following the Talent ID session, students independently researched and wrote reports on diving, and have continued to use their findings and new skills. Seeing this enthusiasm, and how it has helped pupils at this school, ASV's diving team are now developing more materials to use in future Talent ID sessions, to support schools in using diving within their regular curriculum.
