University of Aberdeen student and Development Trust Sports Bursar Róisín Harrison has “dream come true” as she competed on the world stage at the World Athletic Championships in Budapest this month.
Róisín, a PhD researcher in Psychology at the university, was part of the Irish 4x400m women’s relay team who exceeded expectations in reaching the final on Sunday 27 August 2023.

The Irish quartet of Sophie Becker, Róisín Harrison, Kelly McGrory and Sharlene Mawdsley finished fourth in their qualifying heat with a time of 3:26.18 which was just 0.12 off Ireland's national record for the 4x400m women's relay.
Following their impressive performance in the qualifiers, the team ran a strong race in the finals, finishing with a time of 3:27.08 to take an impressive eighth place ahead of France.
